“When the soul and body are united, then nature orders the soul to rule and govern, and the body to obey and serve.”
- Plato
St. Teresa preschool provides an opportunity for 4 and 5 year old children to grow and develop spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and psychologically. The students will be prepared for Kindergarten the following year.
Come and join our faith-filled school family! We look forward to meeting you and your little ones!
Religious Foundation
The teaching of our Catholic values and philosophy is the capstone of our preschool program. Our program helps each child grow spiritually. Lessons based on bible stories, liturgical seasons, and dogmatic concepts help each child to learn about God and His great love for them. Besides meeting priests and sisters, children will hear and learn prayers, religious songs, and stories.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a hands-on faith formation program for ages 3-6 where children grow in their relationship with God through scripture and liturgy. Focusing on God’s unconditional love through the parable of the Good Shepherd, the program is based on the conviction that God and the child are in a relationship.
Sessions meet weekly and consist of a presentation of new material, work time, and prayer.
Classroom Academics
Our preschool environment focuses on developing the entire individual. Daily activities concentrate on phonological awareness, letter/print awareness, and oral language skills. A weekly theme introduces each individual child to new vocabulary words and educational concepts which they learn to apply to the world around them. Math, Science, and Social Studies lessons are intertwined within the week’s theme. Teaching facts and basic skills, along with physical body movement through music and art, help develop small muscle coordination. Our program allows each child to learn and grow educationally at their own pace.
Social Development
Ample time is given to developing each child’s social skills. The children are given opportunities to practice sharing and working with others. During center activities, there are many opportunities for children to learn and take turns talking and using supplies, as well as practice patience when waiting for their turn.

“Parents are the first and foremost catechists of their children. They catechize informally, but powerfully, by example and instruction. They communicate values and attitudes by showing love for Christ and His church and for each other, by reverently receiving the Eucharist and living in its spirit, and by fostering justice and love in all their relationships. Their active role in the parish, their readiness to seek opportunities to serve others, and their practice of frequent and spontaneous prayer, all make meaningful their profession of belief. Parents nurture faith in their children by showing them the richness and beauty of lived faith.”
