Advent Holy Hour

An Advent Holy Hour with a reflection by Fr. Schwenka will be celebrated on SunSun, Dec 17th from 7-8pm. All are welcome to come and enjoy the season of Advent with Jesus. Confessions will be available.

Christmas Mass & Confession Times

Confessions in preparation for Christmas will be 1/2 hour before the daily Masses Mon-Sat; Sat from 3-4pm & 5-5:30pm; Sat, Dec 16th from 10-11am; & during the Advent Holy Hour. Christmas Mass times: Sun, Dec 24th: 4pm; Mon, Dec 25th: Midnight, 8am, 10am & Noon.

Solemnity of Mary: January 1st

Jan 1st, the Solemnity of Mary falls on a Monday and is NOT a holy day of obligation. Masses for Jan 1st will be  Mon, Jan 1 at 8:15 and 10am. There will be no vigil Mass.

St. Teresa Trivia Night

St. Teresa Trivia Night will be on Sat, Jan 13th at Pius X High School Commons. Come at 6pm for social hour and to set up your table. Trivia begins at 7pm.  To register your team or as an individual, click HERE or scan the QR Code. If registering a team, only the team captain should register & pay the full amount for all players. It is up to the captain to be reimbursed by your team members. If you do not have a full table, please register as individuals & you will be assigned to a table, with an option to state who you’d like to sit with. Individual registrations must pay unless you are a first-time player.  Registration deadline: January 5th. Tables will be assigned in registration submission order. Christmas Decorating

Men’s Club invites workers to help decorate inside the church at 1pm on Dec. 17th. We will transport & assemble heavy boxes of trees, hang lights & wreaths. It’s well worth the effort once you see the results. No experience needed!

Voices Invited to Sing at Midnight Mass

All are welcome to join the choir at the Midnight Mass on Christmas! There will be one practice from 7:30-9pm in the choir loft on Thursday, Dec. 21st. Anyone attending Midnight Mass is invited to come early for preludes beginning a half hour before Mass.

 

Adoration for Advent

Advent is a great time to start Eucharistic Adoration; it’s a short session, so if you find it doesn’t work for your schedule, you can remove your name at the end of the session. Many people discover that they love spending quiet time with Jesus & continue into the new year. We have quite a few open hours; please consider signing up for one! Advent Giving Wreaths

Advent Giving Wreaths can be found hanging in the vestibule of the church. There are 5 different organization that you can choose to donate to with gifts or monetary donations. Please place the giving tag you selected on the gift you purchased and place in the vestibule. Do not wrap the gift. Any monetary donations, please place in an envelope with the tag and place in the rectory drop slot next to the rectory door.  Please bring any items/donations by the end of the day on Sun, Dec. 17th. All items will be delivered on Mon, Dec 18th.

Advent Specials on FORMED

FORMED is offering some interesting programming for Advent: Rooted: Rediscover the Jesse Tree This Advent and Drawing Closer to God: A Catholic Art Show for Kids are but two examples. Our Parish Code for FORMED is J4V3RY.

Altar Society Prayer Line

An Altar Society Prayer Line has been established to lift up our prayers to God as a parish community. Leva Orationes Deo is Latin for lift up prayers to God.  Requests can be made by e-mailing  [email protected] or by calling (the first caller on the list) Mary Pat McBride at 402-314-1296. Holy Innocents Mass

All are invited to a memorial Mass for those who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, or abortion will be held on Thurs, Dec. 28th, 7pm at John XXIII Diocesan center Chapel, 3700 Sheridan Blvd. Reading of names at 6:45pm. Eucharistic Revival Holy Hours
