Dear St. Teresa Parishioners,

Everyone is invited to come Christmas Caroling with the CCD & Godteens students on Wednesday, December 22nd.  Please meet at the school at 4pm, with your beautiful voices and presence to bring some Christmas cheer to our neighbors and fellow parishioners.

:: CURRENT, NEW, & UPDATED PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS ::

Fourth Sunday of Advent

Christmas Mass Schedule  - Christmas Eve: 4pm Christmas Day: Midnight, 8am, 10am, Noon  Note: there will NOT be a 4pm Sunday Vigil Mass on Christmas Day.

Advent Confessions Schedule  - In addition to regular confession times, confessions will be heard from 9am-Noon on Saturday, December 18th.

Christmas Tree Setup  - At 1pm Sunday, December 19th, Men’s Club will be setting up the Christmas Trees in the Church.  Please make time to join them and help.

Candy Cane Sunday - After weekend Masses Dec 18th and 19th, Knights of Columbus will be at the church exits offering candy canes for free-will donations. The donations go toward the Giving Tree Program.

 

Advent Giving Wreaths are displayed in the vestibule. Please take time to look over the tags and decide what you are able to donate for those in need.

Christmas Caroling - Wednesday, December 22nd!   Come one, come all and join our CCD and Godteens students in bringing Christmas Cheer to our neighbors through song.  Meet at the school at 4pm.  All are welcome!

Sat December 25th - No 4pm Sunday Vigil Mass - There will be no 4pm Sunday Vigil Mass on Saturday, December 25th

Trivia Night 2022| January 15 - Register for St. T’s 2022 Trivia night! Sat, Jan 15th at Pius X  Commons. 6-7pm set-up and social hour. Trivia Rounds begin at 7pm. Please see attached flyer and registration form. Local health requirements will be followed.

Thank you! to all who helped to deep clean  the Church and grounds in preparation for Christmas.

 Parish Giving & Income

Through Dec 11th, our parishioners have given, and our parish has collected, $449,927. Our budget requires $483,000. Our deficit is $33,073.

Please remember your parish on you Christmas giving list!

Purchase a Poinsettia

Purchase a Poinsettia to adorn the altar during the Christmas Season in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Midnight Mass will be offered for the intentions of the Christmas Poinsettia donors. See the attachment for details.

Midnight Mass Choir

Singers are welcome to join the choir for Midnight Mass! Practices are Thursdays Dec 9th and 16th at 8;10pm and Weds Dec 22nd at 7:30pm in the choir loft. Contact Amy with questions: ametten3@yahoo.com

Acolyte & Lector Diocesan Training

Men, are you interested in serving the Church as a Lector or Acolyte?

Training is offered through the diocese by Fr. Chris Eckrich. There are two sessions being offered—you need attend only one:

¨ Sat Jan 29th, 2022 from 2pm-4pm

¨ Sat Feb 12th, 2022 from 10am-Noon

Bishop Conley will install new Lectors and Acolytes on February 19, 2022 at  Cathedral of the Risen Christ.

If you would like to train for either ministry, please contact the parish office.

Seminarian of the Week: Cody Hein is the son of Edward & Gwendolynne Hein  of St. Mary, David City.  He is studying College 3 at St. Gregory the Great. Remember to pray for Cody and for his formation.

Would you like to learn more about the Catholic Faith?

 Classes are from 7:30-9pm on Thursdays in the Kaczmarek Hall

Anyone is welcome to join—for one class or for all classes. If the topic piques your interest, come to that class!

The Thrift Shop made $2997 this past weekend.

The Thrift Shop will be closed Christmas weekend and New Year’s weekend reopening on Jan 7th/8th weekend.

:: ALL THINGS ADVENT ::

Advent is a time of preparation, prayer, sacrifice, penance, and conversion. The purple, or violet color represents penance and preparation. Although Advent is not as rigorous as Lent, it is to be a time of penance to properly prepare for the coming of Christ. We can give something up or fast, incorporate more prayer, and perform acts of charity, such as participating in our Advent Giving Wreath.

Online Giving Has Changed!

St. Teresa Parish has a new online giving platform. If you had recurring gifts set up, your account with those gifts has been transferred to the new system. As a recurring giver, you may enter the system using the same e-mail address. However, you will need to set up a new password using the new password link. If you gave online without the recurring gift option, you will need to set up a new account in the new system.

  • You can visit the new site HERE (the same as clicking the Online Giving heart in the most-upper-right-hand corner of our parish website).
  • The system is now readily accessible using your mobile phone. You may text GIVE to 402-925-9925 to receive a link to our online giving site or use the QR code printed in the bulletin.

 

Altar Society Prayer Line

An Altar Society Prayer Line has been established to lift up our prayers to God as a parish community. Leva Orationes Deo is Latin for lift up prayers to God.  Requests can be made by e-mailing  levaorationesdeo@yahoo.com or by calling (the first caller on the list) Mary Pat McBride at 402-314-1296. All intentions will be sent by e-mail to the Altar Society e-mail list. If you want to participate in the phone prayer line, please contact Mary Pat.
