New Voices for Midnight Mass

The choir practice scheduled for Thursday, December 22nd has been canceled due to the weather. Anyone wanting to join the 10:00 choir at the Midnight Mass are welcome to come at 10:45 p.m. in Kaczmarek Hall for a practice prior to the Midnight Mass. All are welcome to come and share your voices, singing praise to our Savior!

School Office Closed

The school office will be closed over Christmas Break: Dec 21st at Noon-Jan 2nd. Teacher workday & meetings on Jan 3rd. School resumes Jan 4th.

Please look over the Christmas Wish List and consider giving to an item listed. For another copy, please see the emailed bulletin or call the parish office for another copy. We can email this directly to you as well.

 

Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers are needed for our Catholic School. If you are ready to sub, please call the school at 402-477-3358 or email Sr.Mary-Cecilia@cdolinc.net. For those not holding an educator certificate, two options are open: 1. Acquiring a local  sub permit (may require 60 college hours & human relations course). 2. If you previously held an educator certificate you may qualify for a state substitute permit. Go to the Nebraska Department of Education  website to fill out the applications. Christmas Confessions

Additional confession times to help prepare our souls for Christmas will be on Sat, Dec 17th from 10am-Noon. Normal confessions will also be held prior to the weekday Masses and on Saturdays from 3-4pm.

 

Purchase a Poinsettia

Purchase a poinsettia to adorn the altar during the Christmas Season in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Midnight Mass will be offered for the intentions of the Christmas Poinsettia donors. The cost is $25. You may use last week’s form or create   your own (include name of donor, names of loved ones) to turn into the parish office or in the rectory slot.

 

Leader for Rosary

Do you enjoy leading the Rosary? If so, we are looking for someone to sub or take one Saturday a month to lead the 3:35pm Rosary prior to the 4pm Mass. Please call Mary J Volkmer at 402-489-7914 if interested.

 

Eucharistic Adoration

Spend time with our Eucharistic Lord this Advent. Our new session of adoration will run from Nov 27th-Dec 23rd. What a great way to deepen your Advent Season! Altar Society Prayer Line

An Altar Society Prayer Line has been established to lift up our prayers to God as a parish community. Leva Orationes Deo is Latin for lift up prayers to God.  Requests can be made by e-mailing  levaorationesdeo@yahoo.com or by calling (the first caller on the list) Mary Pat McBride at 402-314-1296. Nebraska Walk for Life

January 28th, 10am at the State Capitol,  followed by the Walk then the keynote speech at 11:30 at UNL Student Union, will bring the 50th Nebraska Walk for Life in Lincoln! Guest speaker will be Dr. john Bruchaliski, who will describe how a return to his religious faith brought him from abortionist to a leading light in pro-life medicine. His Tepeyac Family Center is one of the largest pro-life medical practices in the country, serving as a safe haven for women in crisis pregnancies. His journey is described in his book, “Two Patients: My Conversion from Abortion to Life-Affirming Medicine.” Come and show your support for Life and hear this man’s inspiring story!

Walk for Life Gala

In celebration of Roe v Wade, the inaugural Walk for Life Gala, a fundraiser for Nebraska Right to Life, will be held Fri, Jan 27th, the night before the Walk. Come and join fellow pro-lifers for either or both. This year’s speaker, Dr. John Bruchalski, will be participating in both events. Tickets for the Gala, at Embassy Suites, $50. Emmaus Institute

The Emmaus Institute for Biblical Studies is now accepting registrations for a 5-week course, Opening the Word: Catholics and the Bible. The course will meet in person on Monday evenings, 6:30-8:30 pm beginning Jan 9th and will also be available by video (posted the following day with class notes). Opening the Word is designed to familiarize students with the  Bible generally, preparing them to read, study, pray, love and live the Sacred Scriptures. It is the first of two interterm courses built into our Creation to New Creation program, but everyone is welcome to register for this beneficial course. Mass of the Holy Innocents

The annual mass of the Holy Innocents will be celebrated on Wed Dec 28th at John XXIII diocesan Center Chapel, 3700 Sheridan Blvd. All are invited especially those who have suffered the loss of a baby. All names will be permanently placed on the Banner. Due to time constraints, only names submitted since 2014 will be read aloud. New names may be submitted by calling the Family Life Office, 402-473-0620 before 5pm on Dec 20th or in the vestibule prior to the reading of the names, which will begin at 6:45pm followed by Mass.

 

World Youth Day 2023

The dates for the next World Youth Day in Portugal have been announced, and our diocesan trip is ready to start taking registrations!  Our trip will be from July 24 through August 9, 2023, and includes a side trip to Fatima.  For more information or to register, please click HERE.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreats The schedule of retreats for Fall 2022 has been released and is available on the Retreat center’s website HERE. Remember that for St. Teresa parishioners, Men’s Club or Altar Society will pay for half of a standard retreat per year!
