RCIA: Catholic Moral Vision: Virtue, Grace, & Happiness

All are welcome to join the upcoming RCIA class on Mon, Feb 13th from 7:00-8:30pm in Kaczmarek Hall. Our topic this week will be “Catholic Moral Vision: Virtue, Grace, & Happiness”, taught by John Rutledge.

 

CSS Food Market

Catholic Social Services Food Market will be in front of school on Tues, Feb 14th starting at 3pm. All are welcome to come and pick up a bag of food.

Tree Trimming

The trees on our parish grounds will be trimmed on Tues-Thurs, Feb 14th-16th. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle, please do not park around the church, specifically, Laura Ave and 36th street.

 

February Bed-Making

Thank you to everyone who helped to make beds in January! We are looking for volunteers to help with February Bed-Making at the Waverly Retreat House on Mon, Feb 27th from 9-10:30am or 7-8:30 pm. To sign up for a time slot, click HERE

Informational Meeting for Parents of Upcoming Kindergartens

Please consider a Catholic Education for your child. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about our Faith within an educational setting. Inquire about our Kindergarten program and/or register your child on Wed, Feb 15th, 7pm at St. Teresa School. RSVP School office, 402-477-3358 if you are planning on attending. If registering, please bring: raised seal of your child’s original birth certificate  & baptismal certificate & your child’s immunizations records.

 

Music Recital

All are welcome to attend a music recital featuring St. Teresa Students on Sun, March 5th, 1:30pm, in Kaczmarek Hall. No admission fee but there will be an opportunity to make a freewill offering. All proceeds will go to benefit St. Teresa School Music Program.

 

Girls Basketball

Girls basketball is on its third week of games. Please visit HERE to see when the St. Teresa’s teams play. Come cheer them on and enjoy concessions at our home games!

Women’s Bunco Night

Women’s Bunco Night will be held on Thurs, Feb 9th at 7pm in Kaczmarek Hall. Please join us for this fun Galentine’s event being held to celebrate friendship and support St. Gianna’s Women’s Home. Your $5 entry fee will be split in half to provide prize winnings for our evening and to support the women and children Gianna’s serves. No RSVP or experience necessary. Fat Friday Men’s Night

All men of the parish are invited to a free night of casual, informal, good food, “non-competitive” games, perhaps some surprises, some adult beverages, and great fellowship on Friday, February 17th, from 6-10 p.m. in the school gym. This annual event we call Fat Friday is a celebration prior to Lent with the purpose of making new friends, add names to unknown faces, and reward the volunteers who get things done for our parish family. Confraternity of Christian Mothers

The Confraternity of Christian Mothers is excited to announce that fellow parishioner, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, will be sharing at our upcoming meeting. Elizabeth’s message, “Keep Saying Yes: A Mother’s Reflection on the Joyful Mysteries” is sure to be an encouragement. Please join us on Sat, Feb 11th. Mass will be offered at 8:15am, followed by our prayers. Refreshments and our meeting will follow in Kaczmarek Hall.

 

St. Teresa’s Women Reading Together: Winter 2923

The Women’s Events Committee invites all women of the parish to a discussion of the book, In This House of Brede, by Rumer Godden on Sat, March 4 at 9am in Kaczmarek Hall. This title is available for purchase at Gloria Deo, or eBooks can be downloaded from Lincoln City Libraries. Men’s Basketball

Catechesis of The Good Shepherd Information Meeting

Adults are invited to an Information Meeting to learn more about Catechesis of the Good Shepherd children’s catechism program on Feb 9th, 6:30pm. The meeting will take place in the atrium, located in the basement of the rectory. Adults from all parishes are welcome.

 

Grand Group

Altar Society Prayer Line

An Altar Society Prayer Line has been established to lift up our prayers to God as a parish community. St. Mary Winterfest

St. Mary’s Church, Lincoln, will be hosting a Winterfest on Sat, Feb 18th, 5-9pm, at the Lincoln FireFighter’s Reception Hall, 241 Victory Lane, Lincoln. Join for fellowship, fun, dinner, & dancing. Trumpet Fest, a benefit for Catholic Social Services will be held on Sun, Feb 19th, 2pm at St. Joseph Church. Come and enjoy music from the area’s finest trumpeters, including Darryl White. Admission is free but hats will be passed for a free-will offering to support the CSS programs.

Sacred Heart Church annual Pancake Feed will be help Sun, Feb 12th at Sacred Heart School gym on 31st & T Streets. Serving: pancakes, strawberries, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice & coffee from 8am-12:30pm. Free will offering. Frozen egg rolls will also be available for purchase: $15/bag of 14. Sidewalk Advocates for Life

We need both sidewalk advocated and prayer partners for our ministry! Join us for our next Sidewalk Advocacy Training on Sat, Feb 11th, 11:45am-6pm. Mount Michael Information Night

Are you or do you know of any 5th-8th grade boys interested in learning more about Mount Michael Benedictine School? The Admissions Team and many current Mount Michael students will be in Lincoln on Feb. 15th to speak about the opportunities and educations provided at Mount Michael. Knights of Columbus Movie Night

Please join the Crete Knights of Columbus Council 7704 for a free movie night, “Mother Teresa No Greater Love” on Feb 10th at 6:30pm at Sacred Heart Church Hall, 515 E 14th St, Crete. Refreshments provided. This film reveals not just who Mother Teresa was, but how her singular vision to Serve Christ in the poor continue through The Missionaries of Charity today.

Emmaus Institute for Biblical Studies

The Emmaus Institute for Biblical Studies is accepting registrations for spring in-person and online classes, including the next class in our three-year certificate program covering the entire Bible: The Historical Books (Mondays 2/20-5/1). This Lent, explore the mystery of suffering with Dr. Vern Steiner in his course When God’s People Suffer: A Biblical Perspective on Pain and Evil (Tuesdays 2/21-5/2). Other courses include Behold the King: Encountering Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew (Thursdays 2/23-5/4); and Introduction to Latin Grammar I: C (Wednesdays 2/22-5/3). Called to Silence

God speaks to you in the silence. Are you ready for some quiet time away after the holidays? World Youth Day 2023

The dates for the next World Youth Day in Portugal have been announced, and our diocesan trip is ready to start taking registrations!  Our trip will be from July 24 through August 9, 2023, and includes a side trip to Fatima.  For more information or to register, please click HERE.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreats The schedule of retreats for Fall 2022 has been released and is available on the Retreat center’s website HERE. Remember that for St. Teresa parishioners, Men’s Club or Altar Society will pay for half of a standard retreat per year!
