:: CURRENT, NEW, & UPDATED PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS ::
Lenten Regulations: Ash Wednesday & Fridays of Lent
Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence and all the Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence. Fasting means eating only one full meal with two smaller meals, which together do not equal the full meal. No snacking or eating between meals is allowed. Fasting obliges all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59. Abstinence means eating no meat and no soup or gravy made from meat. Abstinence obliges all Catholics over the age of 14. Sickness, hard manual labor, pregnancy, etc. automatically excuse a person from these obligations. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that these are serious obligations. In case of doubt or question, the priest who hears a person’s confession should be consulted.
Free Magnificat Lenten Companions
Please feel free to take a Magnificat Lenten Companion as an aid in your spiritual growth during Lent. These are located by all the exits.
Ash Wednesday Mass Times
Mass times for Ash Wednesday, Feb 14th at 6:30am, 8:15am, 4pm, & 6:30pm. Pink Sisters Mass at 7am is open to the public.

St. Teresa Women’s Event
All women of the parish are invited for coffee, community, and a discussion of The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis, on Sat, Feb 24th at 10am at the home of Erin Willis (1200 Piedmont Rd). There are many great devotional books to help us grow spiritually during Lent, but fiction can also be a mirror for the soul. 148 pages, The Great Divorce, Lewis’s fictional version of the afterlife, can be a great starting point for self-reflections at the beginning of Lent. We hope you will join us! Questions, contact Mary Pat McBride at 402-314-1296 or [email protected].
Lenten Series on the Eucharist
In this year of the Eucharist Revival, the priests of St. Teresa Parish will lead a 3-part Lenten Series on the Eucharist. We will study the reality of the Eucharist as a sacred meal, the sacrifice necessary for communion with God, and the real presence of Christ. The Lenten series will be held Feb 25, March 3, and March 10 from 7-8pm in Kaczmarek Hall. You may attend as many or as few of the sessions as you would like.
