Fat Friday Party

All men of the parish are invited to a free, casual night of good food, “non-competitive” games, perhaps some surprises, some adult beverages, & great fellowship, on Feb 9th from 6-10pm in the school gym. This annual event we call Fat Friday is a celebration prior to Lent to meet new friends, add names to unknown faces, & reward the volunteers who get things done for our parish. New parishioners are especially welcome. Mark your calendars and set your alarm!

Volunteers to Remove Decorations

The Men’s Club will be taking down the Christmas trees and other decorations on Sun, Feb 4th at 1pm. All are welcome & needed to lend a hand!

Men’s Club Meeting Date Change

Because Ash Wednesday falls on the 2nd Wed of the month in February, the Men’s Club will instead meet on Wed, Feb 7th beginning with a Rosary at 7:30pm in the Church and the meeting at 8pm in the Rectory Marian Room.

THE KNIGHT’S CORNER

THANK YOU to all of the St. Teresa’s Knights of Columbus members that have braved the bitter cold and extraordinary amounts of snow to help shovel driveways & sidewalks of our elderly & homebound parishioners! These “Snow Knights” are Clarence Waldman, Tom Hoffman, Jeff Knievel, Brian Callan, Mike Szatko, Ron Schinkel, Jon Sullivan, Andy Cunningham, & Jake Allen.

The Knights Annual Fish Fry dinners will begin on Feb 16th at the Knight’s Hall, 6044 South St. Look for more information to come!

Attention all diocesan, parish & school groups: are you looking for an interesting & uplifting activity for your group in 2024? Consider learning more about the Pink Sisters! The Sisters invite you to come to their community meeting room to hear a short 30-45 min presentation on the order followed by a visit in their beautiful chapel. If more convenient, the presentation will come to you. The presentation can be geared toward different ages, and the length of time can be adjusted to fit any group’s needs. This is the 50th anniversary year of the Pink Sisters’ community to Lincoln, and is a great year to spread the word about this wonderful gem, located in the center of Lincoln. St. Teresa School Kindergarten Parent Information Meeting

Please consider a Catholic Education for your child. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about our Faith within an educational setting. Please come & inquire about our Kindergarten program and/or register your child on Tues, Feb 13th, 7pm at St. Teresa School (616 S 36th St, Lincoln). Contact the school office at 402-477-3358 if you plan to attend so we can have a packet ready for you. If registering your child, please bring your child’s original birth certificate with the raised seal, baptismal certificate with raised seal, and immunization history.

CSS Food Market

The CSS Food Market will be in front of St. Teresa School on Tues, Jan. 23rd beginning at 3pm. This is a change in the original schedule. All are welcome to pick out a bag of groceries.

Library Book Fair

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week begins on Sun, Jan 28th with the 10am Mass, along with the school children singing in the choir. All students, grades 5-8, are welcome to come and sing. Please arrive no earlier than 9:45 a.m. in the choir loft. Stop over at the school following Mass and enjoy a bake sale, visit classrooms, shop at the book fair, and view the science fair projects.

Catholic Schools Week Holy Hour

Kick off Catholic Schools Week with an hour of praise & adoration with families from across the city. The annual “Light of the Night Holy Hour” for Catholic Schools will take place Mon, Jan. 29th, 7-8pm at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. The Eucharistic Holy Hour will include a talk by Bishop Conley, praise & worship music by St. Michael Youth Choir, & Confessions. Let’s join together to lift up our dedicated faculty & staff, families & children to the heart of our Eucharistic King.

S.T.A.G.E. Productions

S.T.A.G.E. will be presenting 2 musical productions: Jonah & the Big Sale (ages 8-11) and The Merchant of Tennis (ages 9-16), in Kaczmarek Hall. Jonah & the Big Sale, based on the classic Bible story, is set in modern times with Ninevay’s Department store & a Whale of a Sale! Performances: Jan 19-20 at 6pm & Jan 21 at 2pm. Tickets $7. The Merchant of Tennis, a musical parody of Shakespeare’s famous work, The Merchant of Venice, follows a tennis theme throughout, teaching the lesson of Love. Performances: Jan 19-20 at 8pm; Jan 21 at 4pm; Jan 26-27 at 7pm; Jan 28 at 2pm (a 2-hour show with intermission). Tickets: $8/$10. Both performances offer reserved seating. Grand Group

 Sunday of the Word of God Video Series

In 2019, Pope Francis established the Sunday of the Word of God to be celebrated each year on the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Holy Father stated, “Devoting a specific Sunday of the liturgical year to the Word of God can enable the Church to experience anew how the Risen Lord opens up for us the treasury of His word & enables us to proclaim its unfathomable riches before the world.” On Jan 21st, the USCCB will offer a “Sunday Seminar Series.” These 4 videos, available in English & Spanish, will feature a presentation followed by discussion & reflection questions. The topics & presenters are: The Eucharist in Scripture, Synodality and the Bible, The Psalms & Prayer, & The Gospel & Letters of John. Surviving Divorce: Men & Women

The Surviving Divorce program was created to bring hope & healing to divorced & separated Catholics. This 12-week program will be leader-facilitated, featuring 30-min video segments that cover topics of shock, denial, anger, grief, guilt, forgiveness, money, kids, annulment, and more.
