No Eucharistic Exposition

The Eucharist will not be exposed for adoration from Sat, July 1st—Tues, July 4th. All are still welcome to adore our Lord in the Tabernacle on these days. Exposition will resume on Wed, July 5th.

Eucharistic Scriptural Study

All are still welcome to join Deacon Ranil Weerackoon’s Scriptural study and discussion centered on the Eucharist, with an examination of the prefigurements of the Eucharist in the Old Testament, its institution by Christ in the New Testament, and its continuation and significance in the Mass and in our lives today. This group will meet this summer on Sundays at 7:00 p.m. in Kaczmarek Hall. All age groups are invited. Please Note: July 2nd’s class will meet in the rectory Marian Room.

Bedmaking at the Retreat Center

All are welcome to help make beds at the Waverly Retreat House on July 10th from 9-11am or 7-8:30pm. To sign up for a shift, click HERE. Senior service hours are available.

Defend School Choice

Recently, historic school choice legislation (LB753) was signed into law. This law will ensure that families, particularly low-income, have the ability to choose the best education for their children. Unfortunately, opponents are attempting to repeal this import law. If  you are approached to sign a petition to repeal LB753, please “DECLINE TO SIGN” the petition. Let’s “KEEP KIDS FIRST” and protect parental rights in education! Knights of Columbus Needs You!

Knights of Columbus #833 is hiring cashiers for the fireworks stand (located at Hy-Vee: 50th & O) on July 3rd & 4th from 11am-10pm. Cashiers must be 14 years of age and willing to work a minimum of 4 hours. The pay is $12.00 per hour. No experience necessary. Please call Rosie at 402-429-8465 to sign up.

St. Veronica Ministry Memorial Mass

On the Feast Day of both St. Veronica and St. Zelie Martin, we would like to invite any families who have experienced miscarriage or infant loss to a special Mass in memorial of your children. Whether your loss was recent or was many years ago, we would love to have you join us on July 12th at 6:30pm for Mass with a light reception to follow. Extended family and friends are also very welcome to attend.

Eucharistic Adoration

With the summer upon us, there are quite   a few open slots for adoration. Please consider signing up to spend an hour with Jesus! To sign up for an hour, click HERE.  We are also considering adding one overnight exposition a week. If you currently do a holy hour overnight, or if you’re interested in doing one, please email Carrie at cstratman306@gmail.com & express which night(s) work best for you. We need commitments for every hour in order to offer this, but the blessings for our parish would be immense!

 

S.T.A.G.E.: The Princess and The Mustard Seed

Student Theatre announces The Princess and the Mustard Seed, to be held at St. Teresa, Kaczmarek Hall. Performances: 7pm on June 22, 23, 24 & 2pm on June 25 & July 2. This is a musical comedy about Goldilocks, sent on a mission to find the princess who is “just right” to move the mountain of mattresses, who comes to understand what it means to have faith the size of a mustard seed. Our parish is taking advantage of the warmer months to have family and parish groups host a gathering after the Masses. The intent of these gatherings is to strengthen parish relationships. More intention sheets are available if you want to write intentions for fallen-away family members or friends. Place your intention in the box in the vestibule of the church. Sheets are available at the exits of the church.

 

Altar Society Prayer Line

An Altar Society Prayer Line has been established to lift up our prayers to God as a parish community. Leva Orationes Deo is Latin for lift up prayers to God.  Requests can be made by e-mailing  levaorationesdeo@yahoo.com or by calling (the first caller on the list) Mary Pat McBride at 402-314-1296. Please join us for the 12th Annual ThunderBOLT Fun Run! On Aug 5th at Holmes Lake Park (Shelter 3) for the 1 mile “Fun Run/Walk” or a 5K! Carmelite Pilgrimage

Our Blessed Mother and the Carmelite Sisters invite you to an evening pilgrimage to their Chapel, Carmel of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, at 9300 West Agnew Road in Valparaiso. Participate in their annual Solemn Preached Novena, conducted by Rev. Msgr. Timothy Thorburn, from July 8th-15th. Holy Sacrifice of the Mass each evening is at 7pm. Sunday the Mass will be at 9am. On July 16th, the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a Solemn Pontifical Mass will be offered by His Excellency Bishop James Conley at 9am. Please come an join us!

Diocesan Niobrara Canoe Trip

The Diocesan Niobrara Canoe Trips down the Niobrara River began in 1995 under the direction of Fr. Ronald Homes. The canoe trips are open to high school youth (10th—12th grades) & college students. Adults are invited along as sponsors/drivers. This 3-day outdoor adventure includes daily Mass, confessions, talks, private reflection time, & opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ.
