Welcome!

St. Teresa Parish welcomes Deacon Ranil Weerackoon, who will be serving at St. Teresa for the Summer 2023. Deacon Ranil is entering his 4th year of Theology at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Maryland this fall, and he returns to St. Teresa’s after doing Totus Tuus in the parish in 2019. He grew up in Southern California, but after moving to Nebraska for graduate studies to study sports statistics at UNL, he discerned the call to the priesthood for the Diocese of Lincoln. He enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, ping pong, and tennis. He will be ordained a priest in May 2024.

No 8:15 a.m. Mass

There will be no 8:15 a.m. Mass the week of June 12th—June 16th. Instead, there will be an 11:30 a.m. Totus Tuus Mass that week. All are welcome to attend.

Corpus Christi Procession

Sunday, June 11, following the 8AM Mass.

A special neighborhood procession to honor this Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. All are invited to join us in this annual parish tradition that processes the Blessed Sacrament from St. Teresa Church to the Pink Sisters Chapel.

First Communicants and those newly Confirmed are invited to wear their sacramental attire to join this beautiful celebration (we recommend walking shoes). Children may walk with their family on the route or choose to follow the Honor Guard near the front of the Procession. Rose petals will be available for your child to shower along the way. You are also encouraged to bring your own flower petals from home.

All Junior High and High School young ladies of the parish/school are invited to participate in the Honor Guard.  Please meet in the church basement before Mass to prepare.  Please contact Sarah Tlamka if your daughter will participate, jstlamka@gmail.com.

Altar Servers are invited to vest for Mass and join the Procession. (See the email from Fr. Schwenka sent earlier this week for details)

We will process from St. Teresa Church to the Pink Sisters in Piedmont (1040 South Cotner Blvd). There will be two neighborhood altars along the route. A bus will be available to transport families back to St. Teresa's at the end of the Procession.

It is recommended all participants wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water (we will have some water bottles and snacks for children along the route). With stops and transportation back to the parish, plan for a few hours.

Contact Nikki Shasserre with questions, (402) 770-9241.
