RCIA: The Bible

All are welcome to join in the upcoming RCIA class on Mon, Oct 16th from 7-8:30pm in Kaczmarek Hall. Our topic will be “The Bible”, taught by Fr. Kipper.

Sr. Sylvia Jubilee

All are welcome to celebrate the 25th Jubilee of Sr. Sylvia Onyido’s, Daughters of the Sacred Passion on Sun, Oct 22nd with her renewal of vows at the Noon Mass followed by a potluck Dinner and Jubilee Celebration from 1-4pm in Kaczmarek Hall. Please bring a main dish and a side dish. Dessert will be provided.

St. Teresa Parish Bazaar

Please Save the Date for our Annual Parish Bazaar on Sun, Nov 12th! Come enjoy games, great food, & even better company! Raffle tickets are available for pick-up at the back of the church. Early Bird date for raffle tickets is Nov 5th. Tickets can be put in the collection basket or dropped off at the rectory. Lector and Acolyte Surveys

You should be or have received the Lector or Acolyte Survey. Please make every effort to complete your survey & return it by Oct 22nd to the parish office (via the video slot, in the collection basket, or in person), mail it to the parish office, or  mail it to your coordinator (address on your survey). Your willingness to serve at the altar is admirable & greatly appreciated, and this survey is our only means to honor your preferences.  If you have not received a survey and should have, please contact the parish office at 402-477-3979 and indicate which survey you need.

Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations

St. Teresa Parish’s goal for this year is $23,430. We currently have pledged $2,140. Please give generously to support our diocesan seminarians, especially our own, Deacon Brox and Paul Mach! Pledge cards were mailed last week.

Christmas Boutique

Come and shop for Christmas decorations at the St. Teresa Thrift Shop’s Christmas Boutique at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Thurs., Oct 26th from 4-8pm, Fri, Oct 27th from 10am-5pm, & Sat, Oct 28th from 9am-Noon with 1/2 off on Sat. Please take any donations to the Thrift Shop during regular business hours. If interested in volunteering to help sell, set up, or tear down, contact Renee Cunningham at 402-610-3153.

All are welcome to bring your children for an evening of Trunk or Treat on Sat, Oct 28th, 6-8pm in the school parking lot. Grand Group

We have a 2-part event in October: Part I:  Fri, Oct 20th, 1pm, we will meet in the church parking lot to carpool to CSS where we will tour the newly renovated building. We will hear about the current programs as CSS designated to help those in need and suggestions to help us plan a service project that will make a worthwhile contribution to the good work of CSS. Following the tour, we will go the Harbor Café for refreshments. Please RSVP by Oct 17th. Part II: Tues, Oct 31st, we will meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1pm to assemble our material & deliver them to CSS. We need everyone to pitch in & help in order to make this a success!

Marriage on Mission Oktoberfest

Married & Engaged couples of all ages are invited to an Oktoberfest Date Night on Oct 28, hosted by Marriage on Mission. Altar Society Diaper Drive

The Altar Society, along with the LDCCW, is sponsoring a diaper drive during October. There will be a collection box in the vestibule this weekend. Please drop off your diaper donations in these boxes.

 

STAGE

STAGE One-Day Camps: S.T.A.G.E. Student theatre presents a One-Day Camp on Oct 16th, 10am-2pm for students ages 8-12, focusing on an intro to theater, technique, & a short One Act Performance. Cost $38. A camp for students ages 11-14 will focus on the audition monologue, providing specific skills to enhance any young performers audition method, instilling confidence. Cost $18. Class sizes are limited so register early under Upcoming Events on Stage Website below.

STAGE Auditions: Auditions for the S.T.A.G.E. Winter Musical, The Merchant of Tennis, will take place Oct 28-29. A parody of Saintspear’s famous Merchant of Venice, this musical will teach the lesson of Love of Neighbor, incorporating a tennis-theme throughout Venice. What could be better than tennis in Venice?  For ages 9 & up.

Weed Pulling Volunteers

Altar Society Prayer Line

Ride for Life

Ride for Life, benefitting the Women’s Care Center will be held Oct 22st, 8am, St. Vincent de Paul, Seward. Registration fee is a monetary gift from parish or sponsor. 8am: Mass; 8:45am: begin decade of Rosary outside (muffin & water available); 9am: Bike Ride (Routes: 55 miles to Bee, Dwight, Ulysses, Seminary, & back to St. Vincent’s) Food & water at Ulysses; 12 miles to Bee & return to St. Vincent’s with snacks & finish). $30: diapers & formula for 1 week, 1 baby; $84: counseling & ultrasound, saving a baby; $250: parenting class & stroller or crib; $1000 support 1 mom & baby every month for 1 year. CSS Volunteer Needed

Catholic Social Services is in need of a volunteer to help with Panera Bread donations. Duties include picking up donated bread from Panera at 61st & O on the 3rd & 4th Thursday of the month.
