OCIA

OCIA, the Order of Christian Initiation, (formerly RCIA) will begin on Mon, Sept 16th in Kaczmarek hall from 7-8:30pm. It will continue most Mondays throughout the year, leading up to the Easter Vigil on April 19. OCIA involves the study of the Catholic faith & is the normal means for non-Catholics to discern entrance into the Catholic Church. OCIA is open to any adult, non-Catholic or Catholic, who wants to learn more about the Catholic faith. Please consider asking someone who might want to learn about the Catholic faith to attend OCIA along with you. To sign up, contact the rectory at 402-477-3979. If you have any questions, contact Fr. GodTeens Kick-Off

The Godteens Kick-Off event will be Wed, Sept 11th from 6-7:30pm in the school parking lot. All high school students of the parish are invited for pizza and yard games to start the school year! Please see the flyer at the church exits for more info.

St. Teresa PCCW

All are invited to attend the Parish Council for Catholic Women’s Meeting on Wed, Sept 4th: 6:45pm Rosary in the church, 7pm Meeting in Kaczmarek Hall. Program: “Hope & Act for Creation” for the Pope’s World Day of Prayer (Setp 1) for the Care of Creatoin, presented by Jamie Carson, Director or Sustainability for CSS.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Registration for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for children ages 3-12 will begin Aug 3rd on the parish website under Faithful Teaching. Children at St. Teresa School, PreK-2nd grade will attend during the school day. Sessions meet weekly during the school year. Children from all parishes are welcome.

Grand Group

Join us for our annual Tea Party, including a light lunch on Fri, Sept 20th, Noon, at Knight of Columbus Hall. Following lunch, Barb Biffle Bennett will entertain us with a new program. Please RSVP to 402-488-9177 by Fri, Sept 13th.

Holy Hour for Vocations

All are invited to join the Pink Sisters for a Holy Hour for Vocations on Fri, Sept 6th, 7:15pm, at the Pink Sisters’ Chapel, 1040 Cotner Blvd. St. Teresa Men’s Choir will lead the singing.

Golf Tournament

The St. Teresa’s Men’s Club is sponsoring a golf tournament. The Four-Man Scramble will be held at Pioneers Golf Course on Sun, Sept 15th. Please contact Dale Theisen, 402-430-0973, for more information or for a registration form.

CSS Needs  Your Help!

Catholic Social Services is asking for your help! We are partnering with the Knights of Columbus at St. Teresa’s to collect food & monetary donations to support our food pantry. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to CSS Food Market AND include your parish name in the memo. Any food & monetary donations can be made during September 1-30. We cannot accept dented, opened, or expired food. We are most in need of the following items: Oatmeal, Syrup, Pancake Mix, Sugar, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Condiments (Ketchup, Salsa, etc.), and Ramen.

Rosary Drive

Do you have extra rosaries at home that are in good condition? Please consider donating them to our Rosary Drive! Throughout the month of September, the Legion of Mary will be collecting usable rosaries in a basket in the vestibule of the church. In October, we will have a Rosary Giveaway. Thank you for your donations!

Calling all Singers!

The St. Teresa’s 10:00 a.m. choir is starting up this year and is welcoming new members of all voice parts. We are in special need of tenors and bases. We sing every Sunday at the 10:00 AM Mass from September to May, along with Christmas Midnight Mass and the Holy Week Liturgies. Practices are held every Thursday evenings from 7:30-9pm in the choir loft beginning Thurs, Sept 12th. STAGE Auditions

STAGE will hold auditions for The Custodian of Art, Sept 13-15, St. Teresa Kaczmarek Hall. Based on St. John Paul II’s letter to artists, this production is a thoughtful & humorous musical that teaches a beautiful lesson about the purpose of art. Auditions for students aged 8-15. Thrift Shop Grand Opening

Come visit our new Thrift Shop at our Grand Opening on Fri, Sept. 6th, 4-8pm and Sat, Sept 7th at 9am-3pm. Our new address is 366 N 48th St, Lower Level. Donations will one again be accepted upon the opening at the new location. We hope you will continue to support us by donating and shopping with us.

Youth Altar Society

Our Pro-Life Education Series continues 7pm on Sun, Sept 8, at St. Patrick Church. We are showing Sounds of Freedom, a block-buster movie that brought unexpectedly large audiences to theatres. Paul Yates, Executive Director of “I’ve Got a Name” (the organization whose mission is to end sex trafficking in Nebraska), will be here to introduce the film. The film is free & open to the public. Healing Hearts Grief Program

Healing Hearts will be offering a grief program from Sept 17-Oct 22nd at John XXIII Diocesan Center, 7-9pm. This is a six-week program to help Catholics navigate through the grieving process after experiencing the loss of a loved one. Sessions led by Sandy Danek & family therapist, Holly Burns.
